Terms of Service

Last updated July 31, 2026

These terms govern your use of DigiXVault (“the Service”), operated by DigitalX Commons LLC (“we,” “us”). By creating an account you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy.

The Service

DigiXVault lets you and your family record voice, photo, and written memories in a shared vault, and optionally generate AI narration of written stories - either in a default voice or, with explicit per-person consent, a synthetic clone of your own voice.

Who can create an account

You must be 13 or older to create an account, and we ask for your date of birth to confirm this.

Your content

You retain ownership of everything you record or upload. You’re responsible for having the right to record and share it, including having consent from anyone whose voice, likeness, or story appears in a memory you add. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share with the other members of your vault.

Voice cloning

Storyteller mode’s voice-cloning feature may only be used to clone your own voice, with your own consent, given inside the Service. You may not use it to clone another person’s voice, or attempt to work around the one-person-per-consent design. You can revoke consent and delete your voice model at any time in Settings.

Legacy release

If enabled, extended inactivity on a vault (as described in the Privacy Policy) results in access to the vault under this Terms of Service being transferred to a person you choose in advance, after a multi-step warning sequence. This is an access transfer within the Service, not a legal transfer of ownership, inheritance, or estate planning, and does not require a will, executor, or court process. You control this setting and can turn it off at any time, and a completed transfer can be reversed by our support team once we verify your identity.

Account recovery

You can reset your password or request a sign-in-link email at any time from the sign-in page. You may optionally designate another member of your vault as a recovery contact, who can ask our support team to look into your account if you lose access to it entirely; support verifies your identity before taking any action, and a recovery contact can never see your private content or reset your password directly. A request to recover access to a vault whose owner has died or is unreachable is handled only through the same heir-designation mechanism described above under “Legacy release,” if one was set up in advance, or otherwise requires a documented legal request (such as proof of authority to act on the account holder’s behalf) submitted to our support team for review. We do not grant access to another person’s vault on request alone.

Billing

Vaults require a paid plan - $79/year or $9/month, either way unlimited from the start. New signups get a 5-day free trial; we collect a payment method to start it, but you won’t be charged unless the trial runs its course. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you can cancel or manage billing at any time from Settings via our payment processor Stripe’s billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we don’t provide refunds for partial periods. Billing belongs to the vault, not to any one person in it - once an owner or steward has an active plan, everyone invited into that vault gets full access with no separate payment of their own. A gifted vault (see below) includes one year of access from the date it’s claimed, after which continued access requires starting a paid plan like any other vault.

Exporting your data

You can export everything in a vault - recordings, notes, and photos - as a downloadable archive at any time, from Settings. This is available on every vault regardless of subscription status, including a vault whose plan has lapsed, since access to your own family’s memories is never conditioned on payment.

Memory Book

You can generate a print-ready PDF keepsake from a vault at any time, from Settings, with a QR code on each voice memory linking to a private playback page for that recording. This is available on every vault regardless of subscription status, same as exporting. The vault owner or a steward can revoke a book’s playback links at any time, after which its QR codes stop working; this does not affect any other book’s links to the same memory. You can always download the PDF yourself and print it through a vendor of your choice, or, once a book is ready, pay to have a physical softcover or hardcover copy printed and shipped to an address you choose - the price is shown before you pay. That printed copy is produced on demand by our print partner Lulu once payment succeeds, so we can’t cancel or refund an order after it’s been submitted for printing.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time in Settings, subject to the ownership-transfer requirement described in the Privacy Policy for shared vaults. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep your family’s memories safe, but we don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available forever. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

Changes

We may update these terms as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
